Simon Kaempfer
2011 marked a new chapter in Simon Kaempfer's life – after nearly 5 years at Ilse Crawford's studioilse in London, he has taken the plunge to become an independent designer.
As the head of product, Kaempfer has spent the last three years setting up and managing the product arm of studioilse. Under Crawford's direction he has been responsible for the design of the award winning lighting for Wästberg, the Families of furniture produced by De La Espada as well as a collection of objects for a global luxury brand, to be launched this year.
Before becoming the head of product, he worked as project designer on the Mathias Dahlgren restaurant at the Grand Hôtel Stockholm and the brand of the Modern Coaching Inns. Both projects have won numerous awards.

Simon Kaempfer, originally from Switzerland, studied ceramic design at the School of Fine Arts in Bern before accomplishing his second design degree at the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2006.
